ASB supported the Government of Nepal and the National Society for Earthquake Technology - Nepal (NSET) in mobilizing persons with disabilities and their representative organisations for the ESD celebration and practicing the earthquake safety procedures for all.

During the program in Sankhu, persons with disabilities demonstrated how to perform Drop, Cover and Hold On procedure, particularly for persons having functional limitations such as difficulty walking, hearing, remembering/ concentrating or seeing.

This was one of the first national initiatives towards inclusion of persons with disabilities in disaster risk reduction (DRR) awareness raising programs. Further expanding on similar initiatives and capacity building programs,

ASB stands ready to continue supporting Nepal in ensuring all-of-society and inclusive approach to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), leaving no one behind in case of a disaster.
